One Missed Phone Call Movie Review

You might have to cancel your cell service after seeing this one. It really did have a lot of scary scenes. It is kind of in the theme of the movie The Ring. If you like that one you are likely to like this movie. I went to see this movie with two other people. They didn't like the movie because they didn't think it flowed very well. I admit there are parts I didn't pick up on until after the movie but I think it did make sense. I guess that means it is hard to follow. You'll have to bring your thinking cap for this one. It does tell a great story. Just pay close attention to all of the details.

By the way this is another rip off from Asia. The movie sets up for a sequel in America. If you don't mind reading captions just go to an Asian grocery store and buy the sequel and the original. You might even be able to rent the Asian versions from Blockbuster

If someone asks for some viewing hints in the comments I will be glad to help out. I think I can make a statement about the movie without ruining the film. Only if asked though. I highly recommend this film. JUST PAY ATTENTION.

The only real problem I had with the film was the beginning. The producers made cell phones seem overly prominent in our lives. It is kind of like they are exaggerating, but I am sure it is to setup some psychological connection with the viewer. They do run dangerously close to losing interest. Now that I think about it the characters seemed kid of bland at first.

For the ladies they are trying to produce a new Hollywood heart throb. I know this because he was in AVPR his name is Johnny Lewis. Personally, I don't see it but then again the bald guy from ER was considered sexy. And, no I'm not going to go research his name. I'm just saying women cannot be understood. Then again, they say the same thing about men. Ladies when analyzing men, well me at least, just don't think. We really are just that simple.

Please, consider Blockbuster's offer if you like the movies.

AVPR: Aliens Versus Predator Requiem Movie Review

This was a lot better than I thought it would be, and it actually had a few little twists. They weren't monstrously huge and a lot of this reason the movie could pull the off is that you are not looking for that type of thing in this movie. I didn't really recognize it until I started to write this post.

It was also weird that there were some really bad actors mixed in with some really good actors. It was a strange mix and I am not familiar with any of them. The cinematography was also strange. It seemed choppy. It is like they kind of tried to do a collage of different style. Finally, it was PG-13 for a horror movie. There should have been a lot more blood and gore.

At the end of the day you are going to have to make up your own mind on this one. I think the positive aspects of this film outweigh the negative and it was better than the first AVP. As a matter of fact it was a lot better, that movie was kind of lame. If you were a fan of the first one, you should definitely see the sequel.

Side note what is up with sequels being better than the originals lately. I thought sequels were supposed to be traditionally bad. They are even starting to do a good job with remake or continuation movies. Like Rambo, hopefully.

Sign up for Blockbuster there is a history of Alien and Predator films to rent. This is a great deal. I finally, stopped returning movies late or buying them outright and not liking them.

Iron Man Movie Coming Soon

I am really looking forward to the Iron Man movie. When I first saw the posters, I though to myself awww crap they are going vintage. The are going to try overdue a classic presentation of Iron Man. I was still excited to see it though. Vintage films can be a bit dull but that is better than the opposite mistake. Some movies try to be so futuristic and trendy a.k.a. Alvin & The Chipmunks they come off as really cheesy.

Well it appears that I was wrong. I saw a preview for Iron Man and it appears that they found the happy median. Will still have our Hero doing unbelievable thing in a somewhat believable setting. I couldn't be happier. This movie is going to be coming out May 2, 2008 and is sure to pack in quite a few movie goers.

As many of you know I don't like watching previews. I am somewhat lucky I saw a preview for this early on, because I will have forgotten about it by the time the movie rolls out. I am bit disappointed with the lead Robert Downey Jr. I am sure he is a good actor but at this point he doesn't seem like the right guy for the role. Hopefully, I am wrong. I really shouldn't pass judgement because I am not familiar with his work. Oh yeah, they made this movie and paid tribute to Black Sabbath's, Iron Man played during the preview. Hooray.

Blog 7: Update & Commission Junction

I have been surprisingly successful at driving organic traffic to my site. I have been surprisingly unsuccessful at earning money from Google AdSense. I will say I have made a majority of the money in my account over the past 10 days.

Just to give you some statistics I have had ten days in a row with over 100 visitors, with a high of 176 so far today. Hopefully, this number continues to climb. I have earned approximately $16 and I have discovered my favorite feature of Google Analytics. The map feature that show from what countries, states and cities from which you visitors have come. I have 2600 visits from 77 countries.

I personally know that I have a lot to learn before I really start making any money from blogging. I use the Google Map to keep me inspired to continue on, it is my way of turning all the work into entertainment. Hopefully, you can use the same feature or find something of your own to keep you driven. I have also started a second blog that features articles from Sean Anderson. You can find it at Published Articles.

Commission Junction

I have recently started an account with Commission Junction. Basically, this is like Google Referrals, the advertisers pay per action or per sale. The downside is that it is more difficult to get advertisers. Advertisers are not obligated to let you publish their adds. I personally have been turned down several times. The good news is that some of the advertisers allow automatic access and approve immediately, Yahoo is one of those advertisers. Please, don't hate me Google.

Another, downside is that you have to apply to each advertiser. This takes more time but the upside is that you are offered more options and easier access to banners. Commission Junction minimum payment is $25 and the commissions offered are higher than those offered by Google Referrals. Commission Junction adds a new way to make money to my site but I have only had 19 clicks and have not had the ads up long enough to be eligible for commissions. Hopefully, some actions lock and I can report some earnings in my next update. I agree with one of Sean's articles to be a successful blogger you must be obsessed.

Well this is an example of one of my Commission Junction ads, and remember if you need anything please support these adverstisers from my site.

2007 Movies In Reveiw

Happy New Year's everybody. Every New Year we reflect over the past. I decided to contruct some top ten lists. I tried to stick to movies I have seen but Bratz seems like such garbage I stuck it on my ten worst movies list. I took mercy and decided not to put it in the top 5 more specifically the number two spot.

TOP TEN: BOX OFFICE GROSS

Title: Gross: Viewed/Sentiment:
1. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - 961 Mil - Missed/No desire to see this movie.
2. Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix - 935 Mil - Missed/I want to see this movie.
3. Spider-Man 3 - 891 Mil - Viewed/I'd give it a 6.5.
4. Shrek the Third - 790 Mil - Viewed/It stunk 2.
5. Transformers - 699 Mil - Viewed/ Should have been better 5.5.
6. The Simpsons Movie - 520 Mil - Viewed/ Great Movie 8.5.
7. 300 - 456 Mil - Viewed/ Movie of the Year 9.5.
8. Ratatouille - 428 Mil - Missed/ I will see this movie.
9. The Bourne Ultimatum - 441 Mil - Viewed/ Great Movie 9.
10. Live Free or Die Hard - 372 - Missed/I will buy this movie.

MY TOP TEN FAVORITE MOVIES OF 2007

1. 300 - This was the movie of the year. Unfortunately my girlfriend didn't like this film. This movie was packed with action and inspiration. It was truly a great story. It is in the theme of Gladiator.
2. Saw IV - Man I can't believe a Sequel made my list but this franchise really knows how to put movies together.
3. 1408 - This just left me with a really weird feeling that was unique. This is definitely a movie you had to see in the theatre. It loses it's affect at home.
4. Blades of Glory - This movie is absolutely hilarious. What can I say I like to laugh.
5. Awake - This movie was creepy and a mental thriller. I thought it was one of the best films of the year.
6. Superbad - This movie just really was able to relate to the minds of a teenager. I could relate a lot of memories I had as a teen to this movie, only without the turnout.
7. The Kite Runner - This movie was tremendous. It really gave a look into Muslim culture and it did not have a liberal slant. It also, told a great story.
8. Charlie Wilson's War - Wow, it is hard to put this one at eight. Great political story and again no real liberal slant.
9. 3:10 to Yuma - Great movie. It was really inspirational and it was a strange take on a villain. This movie was really unique.
10. Knocked Up - Hilarious movie that both my girlfriend and I really enjoyed. It just had a lot of appeal.

MY LIST OF THE WORST MOVIES OF 2007

1. The Valley of Elliah - This had a huge liberal slant and any movie where our flag is hung upside down doesn't deserve an audience.
2. Into The Wild - Boring. I inappropriately applauded when the liberal little ungrateful turd died in the end.
3. P2 - This was just garbage it wasn't scary. What was this flick supposed to appeal to women that work late.
4. Shrek 3 - This wasn't funny at all. What a disappointment. I laughed once. Come on the gingerbread man pooped a gum drop. I saw it in the previews and still laughed and I still laugh today. The problem is one laugh lands you on the top ten worst movies list.
5. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street - This was a musical and it really really sucked. It is like they misplaced words that would have flowed so the song wouldn't make sense.
6. August Rush - This was lame. It couldn't have a lamer premise. I am evil because I just wanted to smack that goofy smile off the kids face.
7. Bratz - I didn't see this movie and that is why it is not at the top of the list. Little girl sluts is just not something that we should be supporting.
8. American Gangster - This was too over hyped and really just under-delivered.
9.The Hills Have Eyes 2 - This was just too violent. Grossly violent rape scenes don't belong in movies.
10. The Mist/Lions For Lambs/Pathfinder/Hairspray and some very fortunate movies I missed in the theatres. Don't kill me for sticking Hairspray in there, but John Travolta a women and it was a musical.

UFC 79: Liddell vs Silva Review

Fight of the night. This was just a three round brawl. Silva is an absolute nut job. I really don't know what causes him to stop between rounds or stop when the fight is over. Silva is a visciuos war machine. Wanderlei Silva and Chuck Liddell really put on a show. It was amazing. They slugged it out the entire time.

Chuck Liddell got stunned a view times but other than that he pretty much dominated Silva. I couldn't beleive that guy didn't go down. Any other fighter would have been knocked out. Joe Rogan pointed out that he almost went down a few times, but not quite. (By the way HBO your a bunch of jerk offs for wanting to get rid of Rogan.)

Well Liddell won this in a decision and I hope this marks his comeback. I really think Rampage has his number, and possibly Keith Jardine.

Overall, the card wasn't that impressive from UFC 79. Obviously the Matt Hughes vs George St. Pierre fight was good, and the other fight I liked was Manvel Gamburyan vs. Nate Mohr. This was a pre-fight and UFC really needs to start showing all the fights on Pay-per-view. It is b.s. that we pay forty dollars and don't get to see the whole event. For $110 more you could buy a ticket.

UFC 79: Hughes vs St. Pierre Review

Well this was a good fight. I was very disappointed in Matt Hughes. I thought he would be able to put up more of a fight than he did. GSP absolutely dominated Hughes. Hughes couldn't do anything. George St. Pierre beat Hughes even in his strong suit wrestling. Hughes showed a lot of repect in defeat. It's too bad he lost I really wanted to see him fight Matt Serra next. I think Serra is going to find out a thing or two this time around with GSP.

I do have a bit more to say about this fight's entrances. Matt Hughes did a good job, but St. Pierre come on what are you doing? I can understand coming out in the ridiculous looking Gi. I would wear one that fits. You look like a Karate Mousekawitz in that thing. The problem I have is with the French rap. Nothing screams gay louder than that crap. Is that guy supposed to be hardcore or is he trying to seduce men. I would personally woop his butt. Unless, GSP is his close friend. If that is the case, I'd shake his hand and tell him how wonderful his french rap sounds.

I am a fan of Matt Hughes. I think he's competitive not an a-hole. Matt if you are ever a coach again don't beat your guys up. You are the one that injured half of them. It isn't a wonder they couldn't win. Speaking of Matt's Ultimater Fighter team, Mac Danzig you're the man.
